The Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines of Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was established in July 2024. The Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines is one of the key units of the university, which provides a high level of humanitarian education and training for students of all specialities. The department actively cooperates with other departments of the college, as well as with scientific institutions and public organisations. The educational and methodological activities of the department are formed in accordance with changes in the current legislation and new theoretical scientific developments.

History of the Department

The history of the Department is a history of the search for truth, development of knowledge and formation of personality.

The history of the Department of Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines as a single team began in 2024, when, as a result of the reorganization of the college, the scientific and pedagogical staff of three cyclic commissions was united to provide high-quality humanitarian education. The department is staffed by PhDs in Pedagogy, Economics, Physics and Mathematics. The Department has always been the centre of the intellectual life of the College, contributing to the formation of critical thinking and creative abilities of students. Today, the department continues the glorious traditions of its predecessors, constantly developing and updating.

Academic work

The academic work at the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines is aimed at forming strong knowledge of the humanities, developing critical thinking, analytical skills and communication skills.

The Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines is a multidisciplinary department. Teachers of the department work with students of all educational programmes of the college, help them develop skills and abilities in the study of: language disciplines, disciplines that form the philosophical and scientific foundations of the worldview (philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, religious studies, ethics and aesthetics, language and terminology of scientific research), physical education disciplines and general technical disciplines (theoretical mechanics, theory of mechanisms and machines, engineering and computer graphics, etc.)

The main task of the department is to provide cadets and students with the necessary amount of humanitarian, social and technical knowledge for a modern specialist, as well as to develop flexibility, systematic thinking and communication skills. The Department of Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines is a place where new ideas are born and the future is shaped.

Scientific work

Teachers of the Department are actively engaged in research in various fields. Research is carried out in the humanities: history, philosophy, sociology, philology, pedagogy; and natural sciences: physics, mathematics, information systems, materials science.

The department has a permanent scientific club ‘Applied Informatics’ under the leadership of senior teacher Svitlana Hrybanova.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department participates in the work of international and national scientific and practical conferences.

The department’s staff is constantly working on improving the forms and methods of teaching, regularly holding scientific and theoretical seminars, exchange of work experience, and binary seminars. Teachers with an academic degree are involved in conducting open classes, managing research work on the topic ‘Methods of teaching social, humanitarian and fundamental disciplines for aviation specialists’. All teachers are engaged in the development and implementation of modern teaching technologies and the improvement of educational content.

Material and technical support of the educational process

The department's classrooms are equipped with multimedia. The department has a computer classroom and two sports and training complexes.
