History of the department: The Department of Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics was established on the basis of the cycle commission of aviation and radio electronic equipment. The cyclic commission started its work from the beginning of the Kremenchuk Flight College foundation in 1960. Initially, it was part of the cyclic commission of Special subjects of aviation technology. In the early 80s, the cyclic commission was finally separated and renamed ‘The Cyclic Commission of Aviation and Electronic Equipment’. At that time, highly qualified teachers worked at the cyclic commission, such as Roppa E.M., Bulgakov A.S., Kolontaevskyi I.A., Tkachenko V.P., Fatkin S.S., laboratory assistants Koliesnik O.M., Koliesnik V.M. and others. Thanks to their work, classrooms by aircraft type, laboratories and procedural simulators were created and equipped. Over the years, the heads of the cyclic commission have repeatedly changed, and the scientific and pedagogical staff has been constantly updated. In 2024, by order of the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the Department of Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics was established. The department is a graduating unit in three specialities: - 173 Avionics (0714 Electronics and automation; 0716 Motor vehicles, ships and aircraft), educational and professional programme Avionics, educational qualification - Bachelor in Avionics; - 172 Electronic communications and radio engineering (0714 Electronics and automation), study programme Electronic systems and technologies of electronic warfare, educational qualification - Bachelor in Electronic communications and radio engineering; - 141 Electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics, study programme Electromechanics, educational qualification - Bachelor in Electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics. The main task of the cyclic commission of Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics is to provide comprehensive training of specialists, develop their creative skills, ability to formulate and solve problems of their speciality and to use knowledge creatively in practical activities. Training of highly qualified competitive specialists for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and for enterprises of various forms of ownership and types of activity in various specialities.
Main areas of work of the cyclic commission: - Implementation of educational and professional programmes, curricula for training, retraining and advanced training of specialists; - development of a unified concept for implementing the content of education in the disciplines taught by the cyclic commission; - organization and implementation of the educational process in group and individual forms of work at the appropriate methodological level; - formation of personality through patriotic, legal, environmental education, establishment of moral values, social activity, civic position and responsibility, healthy lifestyle, ability to think freely and self-organize in modern conditions in the participants of the educational process; - preparation and systematic updating of methodological support for educational activities in the disciplines taught by the cyclic commission; - collecting and summarizing the best practices gained by the teachers of the cyclic commission during classes, extracurricular activities, retraining and internships; - supervising the scientific work of cadets, students and trainees, organizing problematic groups, holding competitions, contests in the field of the department's activity; - preparation and publication of educational, scientific, methodological literature; - conducting career guidance work among students of secondary schools and vocational schools; - monitoring the needs of aviation companies to help employ graduates. Teachers of the department take an active part in international and national conferences, are authors of a large number of scientific publications, patents, research papers, scientific manuals, and monographs. Some of the department's teachers are instructors and examiners of theoretical training of students in accordance with the requirements of Part-66 and Part-147, and are developers of teaching and methodological documentation in accordance with these standards. In order to improve the efficiency of training future specialists at the Department of Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics, students are involved in scientific research when attending problematic circles and during the department's research work. Teachers of the department actively participate in the career guidance work of the college.
