The Air Transport Department of Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was established in July 2024 and is one of the main units of the university that provides a high level of training for aviation specialists. The department actively cooperates with other departments of the college, as well as with scientific institutions and public organizations. The educational and methodological activities of the department are formed in accordance with changes in the current legislation and new theoretical scientific developments. HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT The history of the Department dates back to the establishment of the Flight Safety Cyclic commission of Kremenchuk Civil Aviation School in 1960. In 2007, it was renamed into the Cyclic commission of Aircraft Flight Operation. In 2017, by merging with the Cyclic commission of Aircraft and Aircraft Engine Design and Operation, Fuel and Lubricants, the Cyclic commission of Aircraft Flight Operation was renamed the Cyclic commission of Air Transport. In 2019, the Air Navigation Cyclic commission as part of Kremenchuk Flight College became part of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. In 2020, the cyclic commission of Air Transport was renamed to the cyclic commission of Air Navigation. The main tasks of the Air Transport Department are to organize and implement a highly professional scientific and methodological level of the educational process in theoretical and practical disciplines, taking into account the requirements of the Bologna Process, to train qualified competitive specialists for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (aviation units of the National Police of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine) and for enterprises of various forms. The main activities of the department are: - development of methodological support for the educational process that meets modern requirements for the training of high-level specialists; - introduction of innovative teaching technologies and forms of organization of the educational process through the use of various forms and methods of teaching; - work with gifted cadets and students, development of their intelligence and interest; - individualization of learning activities, taking into account the abilities and psychological characteristics of cadets and students; - raising the level of qualification and pedagogical skills of teachers. - holding meetings of cadets with practitioners; - participation in the organization of student scientific conferences; - formation of personality through patriotic, legal, environmental, ethical and aesthetic education, development of social activity, formation of civic position and responsibility, healthy lifestyle, ability to think freely, logically and self-improvement in the present conditions.
To ensure the quality training of specialists, the department has the rooms for Chemistry; Occupational Health and Safety; Petroleum Products Technology and Fuel and Lubricants Certification; specialised classrooms and laboratories for the design and operation of Mi-2, Mi-8, Mi-8MTV, Mi-26, Robinson R-22 helicopters, GTD-350, TV2-117, TV3-117, D-136 engines, aircraft piston engines, a room for cabin procedures of the Mi-2 helicopter equipped with the necessary technological equipment and operating electrified stands, a laboratory for physical and chemical methods of analysis, chemistry and metrology of electrical measurements for research. Practical training of specialists is carried out at the training airfield in the village of V. Kokhnivka, which is part of the college structure. The main task of the Air Transport Department is to train specialists in ground handling of aviation equipment for both aviation units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and civil aviation enterprises. In their professional activities, graduates can be engaged in the maintenance and repair of aircraft and aircraft engines, maintenance and operation of fuel supply facilities, and ground handling of air transport. Teachers of the department actively participate in international, national and foreign conferences, are authors of scientific publications in domestic and foreign scientific professional journals, including scientific professional journals such as the Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection, are authors of textbooks, monographs, etc. Teachers carry out research work within the framework of priority research areas: - ‘Comprehensive monitoring and control of helicopter engines operation in flight modes using artificial intelligence methods’, - ‘Assessment of the risks of impact on the components of the environment of the operation of fuels and lubricants’. Teachers of the Air Transport Department are instructors and examiners of theoretical training of students in accordance with the requirements of Part-66 and Part-147, and are developers of teaching and methodological documentation in accordance with these standards. In order to improve the efficiency of training future specialists at the department, students are involved in experimental research within the scientific club ‘Automated systems for monitoring and diagnosing the technical condition of aircraft engines’. |
