25 FEBRUARY – LESIA UKRAINKA’S BIRTHDAY

Lesia Ukrainka was born on 25 February 1871. Annually, we remember the talented poetess whose contribution to Ukrainian literature cannot be overestimated. Many generations of Ukrainians have grown up with her works, and her poems are as topical as they were written nowadays.


BINARY PRACTICAL CLASS ‘AVIATION IN WARTIME’

On 24 February 2025, Maryna Kiriukhina, the head of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, with the participation of the aircraft commanders of the special aviation detachment of the SESU in Nizhyn, conducted a binary practical lesson in the discipline ‘Aviation History’ on the topic: ‘Aviation in Wartime’ for the first (bachelor’s) level students of the groups Pdsr22-1 and Pdsr23-1b, majoring in 272 ‘Air Transport’, the educational and professional programme ‘Air Navigation’.

On 21 February 2025, Olena Chernikhova, the head of the Department for the Organization of the Educational Process, and Oksana Borysenko, the head of the Practical Training Department, joint the round table: INNOVATION AS A DRIVER OF DEVELOPMENT – OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS OF EU – Ukraine COOPERATION, which was held on the basis of Sumy State University.

In the period between 18 and 20 February 2025, Nataliia Kitsel, the Associate Researcher of the Scientific Activity Organization Department, Svitlana Stelmakh, the specialist of the International Relations and Interuniversity Work Group, and Inna Ryshkova, the teacher of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, took part in information event ‘Grant Opportunities of the National Research Fund of Ukraine and Support Tools under the Horizon Europe Programme’. 


COLLEGE TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

On 20 February 2025, a table tennis championship was held at the Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs at the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines among the full-time students. The competition was attended by 1st year students and was held in a round-robin system.


ACADEMIC INTEGRITY FORUM

On 20 February 2025, the ACADEMIC INTEGRITY FORUM was held by Progresylni Island of Vinnytsia Technical Vocational College and the NGO Progresylni. 


THE HEAVENLY HUNDRED HEROES DAY

The Heavenly Hundred Heroes Day celebrates annually on 20 February. It is a mourning day that commemorate deceased participants of the Revolution of Dignity. The bloodiest moments of the revolution took place from 18 to 20 February. It was on these days that mass shootings of Maidan participants happened. All the fallen participants and activists of the revolution were called the Heavenly Hundred. The word ‘hundred’ originated from the structural unit of Maidan self-defence. They were called hundreds. And the term ‘Heavenly Hundred’ was introduced at the ceremony of farewell to the dead.
