On 10 December 2025, a binary lesson was held in the discipline ‘Flight Characteristics, Flight Performance and Planning (Weight and Balance): Mi-8MTV Helicopter’ for bachelor’s degree students of the Pdsr-22-1b group, educational and professional programme ‘Air Navigation’ in the field of knowledge 27 ‘Transport’, speciality 272 ‘Air Transport’.
Serhii Moroz, flight safety inspector-pilot at the Aviation Support Centre of the National Police of Ukraine, was invited to conduct the binary class.
Teacher Oleksandr Tsarenko presented the topic of the binary class, ‘Flight Performance,’ to the students.
At the beginning of the class, Serhii Moroz shared the specifics of his work. The binary class covered the flight characteristics of a given type of aircraft, the performance of flights and flight hours. Then, there was an active discussion of the following issues: ‘Flight plan preparation and determination of the weight and balance of this type of aircraft’ and ‘Comparative analysis of flight and technical characteristics with other types of aircraft of similar design.’
The students actively asked questions, and throughout the dialogue, Serhii Moroz shared non-standard cases from his own flight experience.
The students gained new knowledge, got to know the regulatory documentation, and successfully mastered all the materials of the binary lesson.
