On the eve of the Day of Remembrance for the Liquidators of the Chernobyl Disaster, an important informative session was held at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, dedicated to the heroic work of the people who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.
The meeting was organised jointly with representatives of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU Main Department) in the Poltava region. Cadets and students of the college had the opportunity to communicate directly with specialists who shared valuable information about the events of 1986 and the role of rescuers in overcoming them.
During the event, college students learned about the history of the Chernobyl tragedy, its consequences for the environment and human health, and the activities of the accident liquidators. The State Emergency Service specialists talked about the professionalism and self-sacrifice of the rescuers who performed extremely difficult tasks in conditions of increased radiation contamination.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of safety in emergencies and the training of future specialists in this field. The liquidators of the Chernobyl accident became an example of courage and dedication to their work, and this event was an important step in preserving the memory of their feat.
