On 1 December, World AIDS Day, specialists from the Department of Social, Humanitarian, Educational, and Career Guidance Work organised a meeting between students of the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and specialists from the “Dovira” office in Kremenchuk. This agency's activities focus on identifying, diagnosing, treating, and supporting people living with HIV.
During the event, young people were given detailed explanations of how HIV is transmitted, typical risk situations specific to their age and lifestyle, and were informed about effective methods of preventing infection. Experts emphasised the importance of informed and responsible behaviour, regular testing, and fostering a tolerant attitude towards people living with HIV.
As a symbol of support for HIV-infected people, participants attached red ribbons to their clothes. Birth control, one of the key elements of HIV prevention, was also distributed.
The event helped raise awareness among students and foster a responsible attitude towards their own health.
