On 12 November 2025, Oleksandr Tsarenko, a teacher at the Air Transport Department, conducted a binary class in the discipline ‘Flight Characteristics, Flight Performance and Planning (Weight and Balance): Mi-8MTV Helicopter’ on the topic ‘Flight Performance’ for third- and fourth-year bachelor’s students of the educational and professional programme ‘Air Navigation.’

The commander of the special purpose aviation squadron on helicopters of the Special Aviation Detachment of the Operational and Rescue Service of Civil Protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Oleksandr Chaplynskyi, was invited to conduct the binary lesson, during which he spoke about the various stages of flight performance.

Particular attention was paid to the methods and parameters of take-off and landing, especially in difficult weather conditions.

During the binary lesson, the students also learned about the work of the aviation units of the SESU in today's realities, their tasks and prospects for development.

The examples from Oleksandr Chaplynskyi's own experience were of great interest to the students.

At the end of the session, Oleksandr Chaplynskyi and Oleksandr Tsarenko answered numerous questions from the students regarding the nuances of mastering the various features and specifics of flight operations.
