On 14 November 2025, a training session dedicated to overcoming barriers and implementing barrier-free principles in the educational environment was held at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The event was organised by representatives of the NGO ‘Prostir Idei’ (Space of Ideas) as part of the implementation of state policy to create accessible, inclusive and safe conditions for all students.
During the meeting, participants considered the concept of ‘barrier’ in a broad sense — as a physical, informational, psychological or social obstacle that can complicate education, professional development and social interaction.
A part of the training was about getting to know the main points of the National Barrier-Free Strategy, which is all about making sure everyone has equal access to infrastructure, information, services, and opportunities, no matter their physical abilities, age, or social status. The participants also discussed practical measures that can be taken in educational institutions to support a barrier-free environment, including technical solutions and the promotion of a culture of mutual respect and support.
