On 5-6 November 2025, the Public Library staff of the Kremenchuk Flight College of KNUIA took part in a two-day webinar led by Anastasia Melnychenko, a researcher on bullying, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the NAPSU and the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Turku (Finland).
During the training, participants examined the main aspects of bullying: its meaning and difference from aggression, types of aggression and the roles of participants; causes and socio-psychological factors; principles of effective counteraction programmes and actions of teachers in such cases; creation of a safe school environment, a ‘space of being heard’ and the role of the teacher as a moral example.
During the webinar, library staff gained new knowledge about the nature of bullying, its socio-psychological mechanisms and effective prevention tools. Particular attention was paid to issues of building a culture of mutual respect, creating a safe information space in educational institutions and forming ethical communication between all participants in the educational process.
The knowledge and practical recommendations gained will be useful when conducting library events, preventive discussions with students, and creating information resources aimed at fostering tolerance, empathy, and respect in the student environment.
