On 7 November 2025, Yuliia Bershadska, Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, with the participation of Tetiana Sereda, Legal Advisor of the Legal Support Department of the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who was an investigator, operational officer of the Corruption Prevention Department (combating organised groups with signs of corruption), and deputy head of the investigation department, conducted a binary class on the academic discipline ‘Legal Science’ on the topic ‘Features of criminal liability for crimes in the field of corruption’ for higher education students.
The binary class included an introduction to the legislation and an in-depth study of the criminal law aspects of corruption crimes. Particular attention was paid to the key role of covert investigative actions during the pre-trial investigation of corruption crimes. The students discussed the consequences and responsibility for committing corruption crimes. The discussion of high-profile corruption cases in Ukraine and around the world was of particular interest.
The final stage of the class included interactive activities aimed at reinforcing the knowledge gained. The students worked in groups to develop practical case analysis skills, determined the presence of a crime in the situations presented, and assessed the possible legal consequences and penalties. The practical exercises allowed the trainees to gain systematic knowledge about criminal liability for corruption offences, and the practical cases helped develop analytical thinking and the ability to apply legislation.
