On 6 November 2025, the first round of the 26th Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition was held at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, with students majoring in Aviation Transport (J6) taking part.

The event organiser Vira Siora, senior teacher of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fundamental Disciplines, opened the event and announced the purpose of the competition.

Olena Chernikova, head of the Educational Process Organisation Department, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, expressing her sincere gratitude for their participation and love for their native language, quoting Lina Kostenko: ‘Nations do not die of heart attacks. First, their language is taken away from them.’

The staff of the International Relations and Interuniversity Work Group and the Scientific Activity Organisation Department expressed their respect for Ukrainian patron Petro Yatsyk and their native language by joining the event.

Senior teacher Vira Siora presented interesting facts about Petro Yatsyk, a Ukrainian who invested millions in projects aimed at promoting the Ukrainian language, literature, culture and science.

The winners of the first round of the competition were:

I place - student of the group Pdsr-25-1b Artem Khomenko;

II place - student of the group Pdsr-25-1b Anastasiia Kyrylova;

III place - student of the group Pdsr-25-1b Oleksandr Azarenko.

‘Be honest, rich and self-sacrificing!’ – this was Petro Yatsyk's philosophy of life. He dreamed of a strong and successful Ukraine. So let us cherish our language and preserve it so that the dream of this Ukrainian patriot and patron can come true!
