On 27 October 2025, Oleksandr Tsarenko, a teacher at the Air Transport Department of the Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA, held a scientific seminar entitled ‘Aviation Equipment and Flight Safety’ as part of the academic discipline ‘Flight Safety’ for the first (bachelor's) level students of the Pdsr-24-1b group, majoring in 272 Air Transport, educational and professional programme ‘Air Navigation’.

The scientific seminar covered issues related to the terms ‘Aviation Technology’ and ‘Aircraft’, the types of aircraft that exist, and how they differ depending on the method of generating lift. Aircraft lighter than air were described – aerostats, balloons, and airships. Special attention was paid to aircraft heavier than air, how they differ in purpose and method of generating lift.

The focus was on improving the reliability of the air transport system and its components – failure-free, durability, and maintainability. The types of events are considered, including disasters, accidents, incidents, and flight safety risks: collisions in airspace, dangerous spatial position of an aircraft, rollout, fire, smoke, depressurisation, damage on the ground, and collision with an obstacle in flight or with the earth's surface.

The participants also discussed the main forms and methods of improving reliability in aviation in accordance with the Guide to the Prevention of Aviation Events: improving the functional efficiency of aircraft crews, studying, predicting and preventing dangerous and non-systemic factors affecting flight safety.
