Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a meaningful meeting for first-year students, dedicated to familiarising them with the college's library and discussing the important topic of academic integrity.
During the event, students learned about the library's schedule, rules for using its resources, as well as the capabilities of the electronic library, its contents, and the procedure for accessing materials. First-year students filled out reader forms and familiarised themselves with the book collection, which consists mainly of technical aviation literature necessary for training helicopter pilots. This collection is a unique collection of professional publications that supports the high level of professional education of future aviators.
Students were also shown the library's reading room, which offers modern learning conditions: there are computers with Internet access and free Wi-Fi, allowing users to work effectively with electronic resources, prepare for classes, and conduct thematic workshops with their classmates.
In addition to getting to know the library, first-year students once again addressed the topic of academic integrity. The event was attended by the head of the Scientific Activities Organisation Department, who emphasised the importance of adhering to the principles of honesty, independence, and responsibility during studying and scientific work. She told students about the unacceptability of plagiarism, the rules for citing sources, and the importance of integrity as the foundation of quality education and professional development.
At the end of the meeting, first-year students learned which social networks the library uses to promote reading, publicise its events, and announce new acquisitions.
Such events help students realise that the library is not only a repository of knowledge, but also a centre for the formation of educated, responsible, and honest professionals who are ready to represent their educational institution and the pilot profession with dignity.
