On October 26, 2025, specialists from the Department of Social, Humanitarian, Educational, and Career Guidance Work organised a screening and discussion of the documentary film ‘Freedom Colour People’ in the self-study room.  The purpose of this event was to analyse the problems faced by people in the territories occupied by the Russian Federation and to foster patriotism in the younger generation.

During the discussion of the film, the main problems in the occupied territories were identified: kidnapping of children; human rights violations; destruction of Ukrainian identity through forced militarisation; Russification of education and imposition of Russian history; abduction of children; repression; ethnic cleansing; danger of mining; ecological disaster as a result of hostilities; inaction of the occupying authorities.

Particular attention was paid to the fact that the majority of the international community does not recognise the illegal occupation and annexation of Ukrainian territories. The UN and other international organisations continue to document human rights violations and war crimes in the occupied territories. The class helped to better understand the significance of these documentaries. Today, more than ever, we need to draw public attention to the war in our country. And call on our compatriots to defend Ukraine from the occupiers.
