On 20 October 2025, students at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs had the opportunity to receive mental health support through an unusual but very effective method: communicating with a service dog.
Representatives of the patrol police visited the college with their four-legged ‘colleague’ – a service dog named Jack. Under the guidance of a police specialist, Jack demonstrated a high level of training, skilfully executing commands, which evoked sincere admiration and thunderous applause from the audience.
It was especially valuable that the students had the opportunity not only to observe, but also to personally participate in the training, interact with the dog, and feel the warmth and positivity of tactile contact with the animal. Joy and emotional excitement were evident on the faces of everyone present.
In today's world, where psychological stress is constantly increasing, such events are extremely valuable. Interaction with animals, especially dogs, helps to reduce anxiety, improve mood, develop empathy, and provide general psychological relief.
