On 30 September 2025, Svitlana Drozdova, a teacher at the Air Transport Department, conducted a practical class using quest technologies for third-year students (group Pdsr-23-1b) in the discipline ‘Meteorology’ on the topic ‘Dangerous Weather Phenomena.’
At the beginning of the lesson, the basic knowledge and skills of the students were updated, and the following issues were considered: weather phenomena in the lower troposphere that are dangerous for flights (fog, haze, mist, dust (sand) storms, ground blizzards, blizzards, squalls, tornadoes); features of aircraft icing; recommendations for helicopter flight in a thunderstorm, aircraft electrification.
Later, the teacher offered the following questions and tasks to the students: weather phenomena in the lower troposphere that are dangerous for flights (fog, haze, mist, dust (sand) storms, ground blizzards, blizzards, squalls, tornadoes); symbols and signs on surface weather charts; solving a crossword puzzle on the topic.
During the discussion of these issues, a laptop was used to show a presentation and a crossword puzzle.
At the end of the practical lesson, students had successfully solved the tasks, gained new theoretical knowledge and acquired practical skills.
