On 26 September, a meeting was held between higher education students majoring in Air Transport and the guarantor of the educational and professional programme, Candidate of Technical Sciences Vadym Orel. The event was attended by the head of the Air Transport Department, Associate Professor Tetiana Kozlovska, senior teacher of the Air Transport Department Victor Panchenko, head of the Educational Process Organisation Department Olena Chernikhova, head of the Practical Training Department Oksana Borysenko, and department specialists Inna Yakymets and Yana Unkovska.
The event helped higher education students get a bunch of info about studying at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in the chosen programme of study, Air Transport.
During the meeting, Vadym Orel comprehensively reviewed the structure of the educational and professional programme, assessment criteria, and specialised and professionally oriented disciplines related to various types of aircraft that higher education students will study throughout their studies. He emphasised the importance of general and specialised competencies and programme learning outcomes, as the educational and professional programme has been developed with its uniqueness and specific features in mind to train highly qualified specialists in the aviation industry.
Higher education students were particularly interested in the story about various types of aircraft, their design features and the possibility of their application for different purposes, in particular, information gathering, its processing using IT technologies and AI intelligence, monitoring the state of agriculture, water bodies, technological equipment and related processes, oil and fuel and lubricant spills, identifying fire outbreaks, pipeline emergencies, determining levels of pollution of environmental components, etc.
Vadym Orel emphasised that the quality of acquired professionalism and the ability to make important decisions in complex and everyday situations depend on aviation specialists of various levels of training. Therefore, a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience is the key to a successful career in aviation.
Oksana Borysenko, head of the Practical Training Department, separately emphasised the importance of completing educational and industrial internships, which allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practice.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of interest with many questions and answers. Such communication broadens the worldview of higher education students and highlights a range of issues that need to be expanded upon in order to understand their activities in the aviation industry.
