On 27 September 2025, the dormitory of the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted a screening and discussion of the documentary film ‘The Cry of the Black Earth,’ dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Babyn Yar.

The purpose of the event was to honour the memory of the victims of one of the most horrific crimes of World War II, as well as to foster a deeper understanding among students of the tragedy of the Holocaust and the importance of preserving historical memory.

The documentary film ‘The Cry of the Black Earth’ reveals the tragic pages of history associated with the mass shootings in the Babyn Yar ravine in 1941. After watching the film, the students shared their impressions, discussed their emotional reactions to what they had seen, and raised important questions about tolerance, humanity, and preventing similar tragedies in the future.

Such events help to foster critical thinking, patriotic consciousness, and respect for the history of their nation among young people.
