On 25 September 2025, Liudmyla Oliinyk, head of the Scientific Activity Organisation Department, together with Nataliia Kitsel, associate researcher of the department, took part in the webinar ‘Understanding Open Access Publishing Models (Pros & Cons)’, organised by the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine. The event was moderated by Tetiana Yaroshenko, Deputy Director of the Library. The main speaker of the webinar was Dr Gareth Dyke, Director of Bentham Science Publishers, a renowned researcher and author of over 300 peer-reviewed publications, published in journals such as Scientific America, Nature, and Science. He emphasised the importance of open data in researching and publishing the results. In addition, the webinar participants learned in detail the main principles of open access that researchers should be aware of and existing open access models, their pros and cons, as well as the impact on the scientific community and the future scientific publications.
