On 17 September 2025, a meeting was held between students majoring in J6 (272) ‘Aviation Transport’ and the guarantor of the educational and professional programme ‘Maintenance and Repair of Aircraft and Aircraft Engines’, Volodymyr Hryhorovych Tiahnii, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Senior Researcher. The event was attended by the head of the Air Transport Department, Associate Professor Tetiana Kozlovska, teacher of the Air Transport Department Oleksandr Samokhlib, head of the Practical Training Department Oksana Borysenko, and department specialist Inna Yakymets.

The event helped higher education students get a bunch of info about studying at the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Hryhorovych comprehensively reviewed the structure of the educational programme, assessment criteria, and specialised and professionally oriented disciplines that higher education students will study throughout their studies. He emphasised the importance of general and specialised competencies and programme learning outcomes, as the educational and professional programme has been developed with its uniqueness and specific features in mind to train highly qualified technical specialists in the aviation industry.

The students were particularly interested in Volodymyr Tiahnii's personal experience as the MI-24 helicopter flight engineer and lead engineer at the State Scientific Testing and Research Institute.

Volodymyr Tiahnii emphasised that flight technicians are responsible for preparing aircraft for flight, so discipline and continuous self-improvement play an essential role in gaining experience. He also emphasised that a modern pilot must not only be a professional in their field, but also a person who can make well-considered decisions in critical situations.

Therefore, a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience is the key to a successful career in aviation.

Oksana Borysenko, head of the Practical Training Department, emphasised the importance of completing educational and industrial internships.

At the end of the meeting, cadet Artur Bortnyk was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his active participation in educational events, public life of the college and on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Kremenchuk Flight College.

The event took place in a warm atmosphere. The guarantor and the attending scientific and pedagogical staff were thanked with sincere applause for the opportunity to learn more about the features of the educational and professional programme ‘Maintenance and Repair of Aircraft and Aircraft Engines’.
