The Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information has registered a research topic entitled ‘A cluster-analytical approach to assessing the development of air transport within the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine’, which covers the research work of all departments of the college.

The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to find effective tools for managing and forecasting the development of air transport within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The cluster-analytical approach allows for a comprehensive assessment of the industry's potential, identification of priority areas for its modernisation, and ensuring an increase in the safety and efficiency of air transport.

The purpose of the research is to provide scientific justification and develop theoretical approaches, as well as practical methods of risk management and risk processes as corresponding clusters and algorithms of technical support using analytical and mathematical models to assess possible ways of development, use and functioning of air transport within the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
