There are probably no people in Ukraine today who have not heard the word ‘barrier-free’. Politicians, celebrities and activists talk about it almost every day, passing laws and introducing barrier-free standards, filming news stories and telling stories. But what exactly are the barriers that hinder Ukrainians, how can they be overcome and what have already been done in this matter, students of the TPMdbsr-22-1 group learned during an event held by Oksana Trisko, a leading psychologist of the Psychological Support Group of the Human Resources Department, Tetiana Samchishyna, a career guidance specialist, and Inna Mykhailova, acting head of the Department of Social, Humanitarian, Educational and Career Guidance.

The purpose of the event was to inform young people about new social norms, the needs of people with disabilities, not only physical ones, and to draw their attention to the importance of everyone's participation in creating a barrier-free environment. Practical exercises allowed students to experience the complexity of a world where people can encounter barriers at every turn.

We would like to express our gratitude to the curator of group  TPMdbsr-22-1, Olena Davitaya, for her support and assistance in conducting this educational event for students.
