On 5 May 2025, Dariia Riabtseva, teacher of the Department of Management, Social Science, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, together with a representative of the volunteer movement, an active paramedic, Austrian citizen Mr Ben, Svitlana Stelmakh, specialist of the International Relations and Interuniversity Work Group, and Yuliia Onyshchenko, translator of the International Relations and Interuniversity Work Group, conducted a binary practical class in the discipline ‘Foreign Language for Professional Purpose’ on the topic: ‘Pilot’s Experience in War: Challenges, Dangers, Motivations (Personal Theories, Moral Support), How to Keep a Cold Mind in Stressful Situations’ for the first-year students of the educational and professional programme ‘Flight Navigation’. Flight Navigation’. During the meeting, the invited guest, Mr Ben, shared his experience of working in war. He spoke about his participation in humanitarian and rescue missions, the challenges he faced during hostilities, and methods of supporting morale in stressful situations. Mr Ben paid special attention to the topic of self-control, the importance of teamwork and interpersonal communication in extreme conditions.
The class was held in an atmosphere of friendliness and interest, which contributed to the active participation of the participants and the creation of a dynamic, motivating environment. The participants were able not only to improve their communication skills in English, but also to gain valuable practical experience.
