On 1 May 2025, a binary lesson was held at the municipal cultural institution Kremenchuk Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics History. The museum was opened on 9 May 2014 with the support of Mayor Oleh Babaiev and the initiative of local historian and chairman of the NGO Kremenchuk Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics History Anatolii Byshenko. Maryna Kiriukhina, the Head of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, and Anatolii Byshenko conducted the lesson in the discipline ‘History of Aviation’ for the third-year pilot training group of Pdsr 22-1b. The topic of the lesson was ‘The Legacy of the Heroes of the Sky: The Contribution of Ukrainian Aviators to World Aviation and the History of Kremenchuk’.
The purpose of the lesson was to deepen students' knowledge of the history of aviation technology, to get acquainted with historical aircraft models of the museum, to demonstrate the relationship between history and modern technology, to develop cognitive interest, analysis skills and patriotism.
The lesson began with an organisational moment, the announcement of the topic and instructions. Next, there was a tour of the museum's exposition, during which Maryna Kiriukhina focused on the historical context of the aircraft, and Anatolii Byshenko on their technical features, as the initiator of the museum. The students saw the key exhibits, learned about the history of their creation and technical characteristics. At the end of the lesson, the results were summed up and discussed, questions were answered, and reflection was undertaken.
The outcome of the lesson was the expansion of the students' knowledge of aviation history and technology, awareness of the relationship between them, development of cognitive interest and analytical skills. A direct visit to the Kremenchuk Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics History contributed to better mastering of the material. In conclusion, the binary lesson was useful and effective. Maryna Kiriukhina and the future pilots expressed their sincere gratitude to Anatolii Byshenko for the extremely interesting and informative lesson at the Kremenchuk Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics History.
