On 21 April 2025, Vira Siora, a teacher of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, conducted an academic olympiad in the discipline ‘Ukrainian Language (for professional purposes)’. The Olympiad was attended by the first year students of all specialities of first (bachelor’s) level of study.
The event began with the welcoming words of the organiser and the jury’s member of the Olympiad Vira Siora, who pointed out objective and tasks for the event, using a quote by the prominent Ukrainian writer Maksym Rylskyi as an epigraph: ‘I love you, I love you so much, my singing Ukrainian language!’ The applicants were invited to recall poetry and listen to interesting facts about the Ukrainian language.
Also, welcoming speech were given by Maryna Kiriukhina, the Head of the Department for Economics, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, who wished students good luck and thanked them for their active participation.
After getting acquainted with the terms of the Olympiad, the applicants started to complete tasks on the use of language, the use of professional vocabulary in written speech, and test tasks to summarise and systematise what they had learnt.
The winners of the competition were announced:
I place - student of the group UAVs dsr-24-1b Bohdan Puzyr;
II place - student of the group REBdsr 24-1b Oleksandra Oliinyk;
III place - student of the group UAVs dsr-24-1b Olkhovyk Kamran Ilham Ohly.
