On 15 April 2025 in the class in the discipline Jurisprudence in the group Pdsr-24-1b, in the form of an information minute, teacher Olha Khomiak considered the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on the appeal 'Ihnatov v. Ukraine'.
During the conversation, the procedure for appealing to the European Court of Human Rights was considered. The ECHR considers complaints of human rights violations when national courts have failed to provide effective protection. In its judgment in 'Ihnatov v. Ukraine', the ECHR stated a violation of the right to freedom and personal integrity guaranteed by Article 5 of the European Convention:
During the information minute, it was noted that every court decision in criminal proceedings must be motivated. This applies to the cancellation, change or extension of a preventive measure (part 3 of Art. 331 of the CPC of Ukraine).
