On 31 March 2025, Vira Siora, a teacher of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, conducted a demonstrative practical lesson in the discipline ‘Business Etiquette and Communication Culture’ on the topic: ‘Etiquette Culture as a Means to Solve Disputes and Conflicts’ for students of the TEdsr-24-1b group of the Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA, majoring 141 ‘Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics’, the educational and professional programme ‘Electromechanics’. In the beginning of the class, Vira Siora announced the topic and objectives, saying that it would be held in the form of a seminar and aimed at achieving practical mastery of the basic rules of communication at the non-verbal level by higher education students; developing the ability to model communication situations; developing adaptation skills under different conditions; and cultivating a culture of business relationships. Once interested, the students quickly focused on the perception of the material and actively engaged in the activities. The students were asked to act as an instructor, observer, and analyst in solving a number of problem situations and completing the training tasks: the trainees practised imitating different shades of eye expressions, covering their faces with an A4 sheet of paper; simulating a given facial expression. A variety of teaching methods and forms were used in the classroom: verbal, visual (illustration, self-observation, analysis); interactive (‘Scan QR code’, ‘Brainstorming’). At the same time, the students sat at tables arranged in a semicircle, with an observer and an analyst in the centre. The lesson was dynamic and productive, with the goal achieved. The content of the lesson fully meets the requirements of the curriculum and the purpose of the tasks. The teacher successfully selected teaching methods and rationally allocated time. The engagement of all students was observed throughout the lesson. The tasks were hands-on. The students filled in the gaps in their knowledge and improved the necessary skills on the topic. Maryna Kiriukhina, Head of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, who was present at the lesson, noted that the teacher Vira Siora constantly interacts with students; uses mainly active teaching methods; successfully combines frontal, group and individual forms of organising learning activities. Olena Pushkar, a senior teacher of the department, who was invited to the lesson, noted that philologist Vira Siora treats students with respect, understanding, and tact; has strong, deep knowledge of the subject; considers motivational aspects well; and is respected by students. The lesson was conducted at a high scientific and methodological level.
