In the period between 11 and 20 March 2025, the Head of the Air Transport Department, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Tetiana Kozlovska took part in the International Advanced Training (Webinar) on the topic: ‘Non-formal education in the training of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the European Union and Ukraine’.

The International Advanced Training (Webinar) was organised by the Research Institute of the Lublin Science and Technology Park (Lublin University of Technology, Poland) and IESF - International Foundation for Scholars and Educators. The academic load of the International Advanced Training (Webinar) was 1.5 ECTS credits (45 hours).

During 10 days, the participants studied ‘Understanding non-formal education in the European Union and Ukraine. Peculiarities of non-formal education development in Ukraine’, ‘Non-formal education confirmation and recognition in the European Union and Ukraine’, ‘Peculiarities of non-formal and formal education, experience of the European Union and Ukraine’, ‘Non-formal education confirmation and recognition in the European Union and Ukraine’, ’Non-formal education in Ukraine: Features, benefits and drawbacks’.

The issues of non-formal education in institutional higher education were covered in an interesting and comprehensive manner, using the examples of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Mastering the webinar materials allowed us to get answers to important questions: should higher education be formal or non-formal; what are the features of non-formal education; is all education non-formal; can formal education be useful?
