On 5 March 2025, within the framework of the Word Open Access Week, the webinar ‘Open Access. Open Science, open data: Era’s Challenges was attended by the college staff and teachers, including:

the Scientific Activity Organization Department – the associate researcher Nataliia Kitsel;

the International Relations and Interuniversity Work Group – the specialist Svitlana Stelmakh and the translator Yuliia Onyshchenko;

the Practical Training Department – the head of the Department Oksana Borysenko;

the Air Transport Department – the head of the Department Tetiana Kozlovska and teachers Volodymyr Holovenskyi, Yuliia Bershadska, Alla Reuta, Inna Deriabina, Oleksandr Samokhlib, Olena Davitaia, Svitlana Drozdova and Volodymyr Zhurid;

the Department of Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics – the head of the Department Yevhen Volcanin and teachers Yurii Stushchanskyi and Yurii Havruliuk;

the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines – the head of the Department Maryna Kiriukhina and teachers Olha Khomiak, Svitlana Hrybanova, Inna Ryshkova, Daria Riabtseva, Maryna Puzyr, Vira Siora and Olena Pushkar;

the Cyclic Commission for Electronic Communications, Radio Engineering and Avionics – the head of the Cyclic Commission Serhii Sych and teachers Volodymyr Povod and Victor Panchenko.

The webinar covered the following reports:

  1. ‘Open research data: How to talk to sceptics and what best European practices we can borrow’ – speaker Iryna Kuchma, EIFL;
  2. ‘Data, data, data!’ How to collect, analyse and present research data professionally’ – speaker Gareth Dyke, Bentham Science;
  3. ‘Open science in Ukraine and the world according to Web of Science’ – speaker Iryna Tykhonkova, Clarivate;
  4. ‘Open data and artificial intelligence: Analysis of technological experience of implementation and use’ – by Olha Olshevska, Odesa National Technological Institute;
  5. ‘Open science and open data: Turning Point’ – speaker Yuliia Hlavcheva, National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute’;
  6. ‘Research data management: Information on SSTL of Ukraine projects’ – speaker Tetiana Yaroshenko, SSTL of Ukraine.

The event was aimed at raising awareness among educators and scientists about the modern trends in open science and scientific data exchange.

During the webinar, participants had the opportunity to learn about the concept of open access and its importance in modern science; learn about the benefits of open scientific data and its use in research; consider the ethical and legal aspects of open access publishing; discuss the prospects for the development of open science in Ukraine and the world.

The speakers of the webinar were the leading experts in open science area, who shared their practical advice on working with open scientific platforms, publishing and adherence to the principles of academic integrity.

The participation in such events contributes to the professional growth of teachers and scientists and allow the introduction of modern educational approaches into the educational process. The College staff will continue to support initiatives that promote open science and academic integrity.
