On 14 February 2025, the Head and Teacher of the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines Maryna Kiriukhina and Olha Khomiak held a round table on ‘European Integration and Ukrainian Identity’ in the study groups Pdsr-24-1b and BPLAdsr-24-1b.
The round table was dedicated to a topical issue of modern Ukraine – the process of European integration and its impact on the formation and development of Ukrainian national identity. The event brought together the department's teachers and students to discuss various aspects of this complex issue.
The objective of the event
- Analysing the relationship between European integration processes and the formation of Ukrainian national identity.
- Discussion of the challenges and opportunities associated with Ukraine's European integration.
- Formation of an active civic position among young people regarding Ukraine's European choice.

The following issues were discussed during the round table:
- The impact of European integration on the formation of Ukrainian identity: The participants concluded that European integration contributes to the strengthening of Ukrainian identity, as it involves the introduction of European values such as democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
- Challenges for Ukrainian identity in the process of European integration: It was noted that European integration may lead to the loss of part of the national identity. Therefore, it is important to preserve our own cultural traditions and historical memory.
- The role of youth in shaping a European Ukraine: Young people play a key role in the process of European integration. It is the younger generation that will build a new European Ukraine.
- Information warfare and its impact on the perception of European integration: The participants discussed how Russian propaganda tries to discredit Ukraine's European choice and manipulate public opinion.
The students of the study groups Pdsr-24-1b and BPLAdsr-24-1b actively participated in the discussion of the issues raised.
