On 4 February 2025, there was a Meeting of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on ‘Appropriate naming of educational programmes in higher education: own face, special competences, responsible advertising’. The event was joined by Olena Tsymbalistova, Deputy Director of the College for Education and Research, Olena Chernikhova, Head of the Department for Organisation of the Educational Process, and Oksana Borysenko, Head of the Practical Training Department.

The key speaker at the event was Oleh Sharov, Director of Higher Education and Adult Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, who introduced the participants to the practice of naming educational programmes in higher education in accordance with the requirements of Part 6 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education’, in order to regulate the naming of educational programmes.

The event discussed key aspects of the formation and improvement of the names of educational programmes, their compliance with higher education standards, as well as accreditation requirements. The participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, express their suggestions and receive clarifications on the practical application of the legislation.
