On 21 January 2025, the Kremenchuk city council meeting room hosted an event to award volunteers involved in the annual charity initiative ‘Help to St. Nikolas’. This event is dedicated to St. Nicolas Day and has been held for 22 years in a row. The event was opened by Deputy Mayor Ruslan Protsenko. Vitalii Maletskyi, Mayor of Kremenchuk, also joined the event, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to support children in need of special attention.
The young people were greeted by Svitlana Pyshchyta, Chief of Staff of the Mayor, and Ruslan Protsenko, a member of the Regional Council of the VIII convocation, who emphasized the role of volunteers and public initiatives in shaping a culture of charity and mutual assistance.
This year, St Nikolas had numerous helpers among volunteers of the city’s educational institutions/ Representatives of the KFC of KhNUIA were particularly active. The Head of the Department of Social, Humanitarian, Educational and Career Guidance work Ruslana Babina and the Head of the Leisure Division Tetiana Bulat shared their experience of supporting charitable projects. Volunteering experience was also shared by members of the cadet and student self-government of the KFC of KhNUIA Marharyta Kaptsevych and Veronika Kapustynska.
At the event, the results of city and youth initiatives aimed at supporting low-income families and orphans were presented. Volunteers prepared festive presents and organized a number of entertainment activities that created a real holiday atmosphere. Thanks to joint efforts of the city’s caring residents, more than a hundred children were helped, giving them joy and faith in miracles.
The event finished by presenting certificates from the mayor of Kremenchuk Vitalii Maletskyi to the most active volunteers, with words of gratitude to all participants and partners who joined the initiative. The organizers emphasized that this project will become an annual tradition that will unite people around a noble goal – to do good.
