On 12 December 2024, Inna Ryshkova, a teacher at the Department of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fundamental Disciplines, a specialist of the highest category, conducted a practical class using quest technologies on the topic ‘Responsibilities of a mechanical technician’ with the 1st year students of the group TMdsr-24-1b, speciality 272 Air Transport, educational and professional programme ‘Maintenance and Repair of Aircraft and Aircraft Engines’.

During the lesson, the students recalled the key points of the helicopter mechanic profession through an interactive quest. They watched a training video, created pre-flight inspection checklists on their own, mastered English professional vocabulary and role-played dialogues between a mechanic and a pilot. The quest used methods of immersion in a professional environment, simulation of real-life work situations, interactive learning and communicative approach to learning a foreign language. The students practised not only technical terminology but also professional communication skills, learnt to describe the technical condition of equipment, report malfunctions and give safety recommendations.

All students were involved in the work and were active and productive. This was due to the effective selection of methods and forms of work, as well as the establishment of a friendly and psychologically comfortable atmosphere in the classroom. The teacher concluded the relevance of the topic and its importance in shaping students’ knowledge, and noted the success of the lesson. The purpose of the class was fully realized, and the expected goals were achieved.
