The Heavenly Hundred Heroes Day celebrates annually on 20 February. It is a mourning day that commemorate deceased participants of the Revolution of Dignity. The bloodiest moments of the revolution took place from 18 to 20 February. It was on these days that mass shootings of Maidan participants happened. All the fallen participants and activists of the revolution were called the Heavenly Hundred. The word ‘hundred’ originated from the structural unit of Maidan self-defence. They were called hundreds. And the term ‘Heavenly Hundred’ was introduced at the ceremony of farewell to the dead.

The Revolution of Dignity lasted 94 days. It began on 21 November 2013 with the change of the country's European integration course by the Yanukovych government, which led the youth to protest on the Maidan.  The brutal crackdown on protesters triggered a massive civil protest. The Revolution spread to many cities, the centre was Independence Square and nearby streets in Kyiv.

The Heavenly Hundred Heroes are commemorated with the slogan ‘Thank you for freedom!’. On 20 February, Ukrainians remember those who paid the highest price for freedom for Ukraine and its people during the Revolution of Dignity - their lives.

The Kremenchuk Flight College Library of KhNUIA joins he commemoration of those deceased on the Maidan. In the reading room, there is a book and illustration exhibition ‘Your Heroes, Ukraine!’, which presents literature about the chronicles of the war, memories of the victims' families, interesting facts about Maidan and what happened behind the scenes.
