Webinar on the topic “Participation in the competitions of projects of European grant programs” was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in online mode on the Zoom platform with the participation of representatives of the European Union Research and Innovation program “Horizon 2020”. The scientific and pedagogical staff of the University, representatives of Sumy Branch and Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA took part in the webinar.

At the beginning of the event Leonid Mohilevskyi, Vice-Rector of the University greeted participants and told about the history of the creation, activity areas and structural units of the University. Leonid Volodymyrovych also emphasized that the development of scientific and international activities are the priority areas of the University and stressed that information, received from the speakers, will be useful and interesting for the webinar participants.

Ukraine has been an associate member of the European Union Research and Innovation program “Horizon 2020” since 2015. It is the biggest EU Framework Program on funding Research and Innovation. Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine created a network of national contact points in order to give the information about opportunities of “Horizon 2020”, consult of potential participants on the way from the idea to the implementation of projects, help in finding partners.

Representatives of “Horizon 2020” became speakers at a webinar at the KhNUIA in various areas of activity. Among them were Oleksandr Chemerys, “Security”; Maryna Horokhovatska, “European Research Infrastructure”; Tetiana Stepanova, “Food Security”; Taisiia Symochko, “Health”, other speakers - Ihor Kotsiuba, the Нead of the Laboratory of Digital Forensics Pukhov Institute for Modelling of Energy Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Oleksandr Korystin, Chief Research Fellow of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Issues related to competitive programs, opportunities to participate in the latest competitions “Horizon 2020”, and various types of project proposals, features of their formation and submission to the competition were discussed during the event. Also, issues related to the conditions to be met for participation in the “Horizon 2020” competitions, features of search and work with partners, evaluation of projects in the “Horizon 2020 program”, “Horizon-Europe program”, etc. were covered. Speakers gave examples of successful participation in such competitions.

During the webinar, participants asked questions and received reasonable and comprehensive answers.
